What Is Stewardship?

It is…

†         Everything that happens after saying, “I believe!”

Once we realize that God is the source of all our being and all our earthly time, talent and treasure, we must decide what to do with that knowledge – what will we give of ourselves to do the will of God in bringing the awareness of God’s love to all people?

†         Using God’s gifts to spread God’s love on earth

Belief in the restoring love of God through Christ requires stewardship.  God in Christ has commanded us to love God, our neighbor, and ourselves, as God love us. This is the highest use of all the gifts we have from God.

†         Giving out of joyful gratitude, and gratitude from joyful giving

With belief comes gratitude for God’s love.  As we mature in faith, we come to an increasing understanding that our gratitude and our giving become so intertwined that it becomes difficult to tell one from the other.  St. Paul’s, in turn, is grateful as a parish for the contributions of all its participants, and believes in using those gifts wisely so that all may grow more deeply in relationship with God.

†         A lifelong journey of growth in faith, discernment, and action

The journey differs for each person, as God has placed each of us on a slightly different path and blessed each of us with unique talents and resources.  No matter where your journey of faith finds you, know that your gifts have meaning and value to God, and consequently to this parish.
